2013 Graphite on paper 24x18" This is a drawing of a selfie my mother took while she was visiting me during my semester abroad in Rome. Back at college, I missed Italy and my mom. On the right are the physical distances between my mother and everything in the physical space, on the left are the physical distances between me in Rochester and my mom in Ohio and my life in Rome. On the top and bottom are emotional distances between me and the next time I'll see them.
