GET-IT-OFF-YOUR-CHEST BOOTH (VERSION 2)
2013 Wood 96x96x46" As a continuation of the first booth, this was set up as a place for people to feel a sense of relief from releasing their thoughts and feelings that they would otherwise be forced to carry around. Guests of the gallery were asked to go inside of the booth and were instructed to say something that they want to say to somebody but cannot for whatever reason. Their messages were privately recorded and kept anonymous. People were also able to listen to past recordings.

GET-IT-OFF-YOUR-CHEST BOOTH
2012 Here I explored the concept of communication and its importance in our lives. I wanted to draw attention to the problems some people have with expressing themselves and provide an outlet for said people. Passersby were asked to go inside and record a message. It was a completely private and anonymous experience where only their voice was recorded. They were asked to say something that they want to say to somebody but can't for whatever reason.

GOODBYE, DARLING
2012 This piece was made to represent my state of mind after my break-up. I felt that I had no rest from my own thoughts, so I decided to replicate that externally. I huddled everyone in a tight circle around me and handed them each two lines to say. The lines they were reading were phrases that my boyfriend had said to me both during our relationship and when he was breaking up with me.

STICKS AND STONES
2012 Here, I looked to Vito Acconci's "Blindfold Catching" of his "Three Adaptation Studies" series. He blindfolded himself and asked people to throw balls at him. He was vulnerable and constantly bracing himself for physical pain, so I decided to do the same but with emotional pain. The viewers were instructed to yell insults at me while I was blindfolded and couldn't see who was speaking.

MEASURING MY SELF-WORTH
2012 For this I wanted to explore how we as a culture are obsessed with overly familiarizing ourselves with superficial elements of our bodies. I wanted to look at it from the perspective of people with body issues who focus on very minute details of themselves. So I made a procedure in which I measured every part of myself and recorded those measurements. The result was a 30 minute video.
